01 About the project

The story behind it.

Apped services railway trains in New Zealand, and the company wanted a mobile app for the work around them. Before settling on one look, it asked for several complete design directions: different styles, the same set of core functions.

We mapped the essential flows first, then explored how far the interface could shift without breaking them. Each direction keeps the same navigation and the same order of information; color, type and density are what change. The result is a set of options that can be compared side by side rather than a pile of unrelated screens.

The engagement also covered promotional images for every direction, so the team could put the versions in front of stakeholders in one sitting and talk about the differences that matter.
