Aoraki Labs — Reagent Inventory App
Reagent inventory for a university lab: scan a bottle, check shelf stock and log quality checks before a routine request turns into a purchase order.

The story behind it.
A university chemistry lab runs on inventory nobody can see. Reagents sit in fume hoods, cold rooms and shared cabinets, and a request for a routine solvent can stall for a day because no one is sure what is already on the shelf. Aoraki Labs asked for an app that would make those holdings visible to the people using them.
Scan, then decide. Staff raise a request, browse the reagent catalog and check stock before they order. Every bottle carries a QR label that opens its record: storage location, hazard notes, expiry date, and the quality-control checks it has passed. Those checks build an audit log as a by-product of the normal work rather than a separate chore. Push notifications flag expiring stock and approved requests.
Managers get an admin panel for inventory, request queues and quality records, using the same labels and vocabulary the lab already works with. Screens were sized for tablets and phones, and stay legible under lab lighting with a glove on. The set was completed in 2020.
