The story behind it.
Ordering for a table of six is a small negotiation: who shares what, which roll comes without sesame, whether the kitchen can send everything at once. We designed the ordering app for a New Zealand Japanese restaurant around that reality, giving guests one place to browse the full menu, build a meal, and settle the bill without flagging down a server.
Guests start with the menu, then adjust each dish to taste: portion, additions, removals. The order stays editable until checkout, where card payment closes it out. From there a status screen follows the kitchen's progress, so the table knows when the first plates are coming and when the last one is on its way.
The layout runs on tablets and phones, with touch targets sized for use at a busy table and food photography doing most of the persuading. We delivered the complete screen set for the order cycle in Photoshop, from the first tap to order ready.
